Expression of Interest (EOI) for Sponsorship of a Community Engagement Vehicle for FRNSW Metropolitan East Command

Overview

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) is inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from commercial organisations to sponsor a community engagement vehicle for its Metropolitan East Command. This initiative will serve as a pilot sponsorship, with the potential for expansion across NSW.

The sponsored vehicle will not only enhance FRNSW’s community outreach and public safety education efforts but will also play a crucial role in the Metropolitan East Alternate Duties Support (MEADS) program. This program is designed to provide meaningful work and support to personnel working alternate duties, either as part of a Return to Work or Supported at Work Plan. The vehicle will empower MEADS personnel to effectively participate in and contribute to community engagement activities across the command.

Objectives of the partnership

  • Community Engagement: The vehicle will serve as a mobile platform for delivering fire safety education, emergency preparedness, and community support services at events, schools, and public gatherings.
  • Support for Firefighter Alternate Duties Program: The vehicle will enable MEADS personnel to travel across the Metropolitan East Command, assisting local fire station staff with community engagement activities, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of the MEADS program.
  • Visibility and Brand Alignment: The sponsor will gain significant brand visibility and align with FRNSW’s mission of community safety and support for firefighters in alternate duties.
  • Innovation in Public Safety: Showcase innovative approaches to community engagement and public safety, setting a benchmark for future collaborations between FRNSW and commercial partners.

Sponsorship benefits

  • Brand Exposure: The sponsor’s branding will be prominently displayed on the vehicle, uniforms, and promotional materials, ensuring high visibility across the community and at public events.
  • Media and Public Relations Opportunities: The sponsor will collaborate with FRNSW’s Media and Corporate Engagement team on joint press releases, social media campaigns, and event promotions, highlighting the impact of the partnership and the MEADS program.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): The sponsorship will reinforce the sponsor’s reputation as a responsible corporate citizen, supporting both community safety and the welfare of firefighters.

Sponsorship requirements

FRNSW is seeking a partner that:

  • Shares FRNSW’s commitment to public safety, community engagement, and the support of firefighters in alternate duties.
  • Can provide financial or in-kind support for the acquisition, branding, and maintenance of the community engagement vehicle.
  • Is willing to engage in a multi-year partnership, starting with the Metropolitan East Command, with the potential for statewide expansion.

Evaluation criteria

EOIs will be evaluated based on:

  • Alignment with FRNSW’s Values and Objectives: The sponsor’s alignment with FRNSW’s mission to protect and serve the community, including support for firefighter welfare through the MEADS program.
  • Capability and Resources: The sponsor’s ability to deliver and sustain the required support for the vehicle and the associated community engagement activities.
  • Innovation and Engagement: Creative ideas for maximizing the vehicle’s impact on community engagement and public safety, particularly through the MEADS program.
